In this post, Archer A7 will be used as an example.

Step 1: To connect your router, follow the steps below.

If you connect to the internet directly from the wall with an Ethernet cable instead of a DSL, cable, or satellite modem, connect the Ethernet cable to the router’s Internet port and then go to Steps 4 and 5 to finish the hardware connection.

Notes:

1. Turn off the modem and, if it has a spare battery, take it out.

2. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the modem’s Internet port to the Internet port on your router.

3. Turn on the modem and wait for it to restart, which should take about 2 minutes.

4. Plug the power cord into the router and turn it on.

Step 2: Join your smartphone to TP-Link Wi-Fi. On the bottom label of a TP-Link wireless router, the default network name and password are written.

Step 3. Download and install the Tether APP on your phone.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tplink.tether

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tp-link-tether/id599496594

Once done, open the Tether app.

Step 4. Choose your TP-Link wireless router from device list.

Step 5. Set up a password for logging in to your TP-Link wireless router.

Step 6: Wait one minute, then choose the type of connection you want and type in your username and password.

Notes: Your Internet Service Provider should tell you what kind of connection you have and how to set it up. If you aren’t sure about any of this, you can check with your Internet Service Provider.

Step 7: Change the TP-Link router’s MAC address settings.

Notes: Please tick “Do not change MAC address” (Recommended).

Step 8: Change the settings for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks on the TP-Link wireless router.

Step 9: Confirm your settings and use them. The Tether APP will then check your network connection and let you know if something is wrong.

That’s about it! Please have fun with the internet.
